Field marks

  1. Bright yellow spectacles: a complete eyering joined to yellow lores.
  2. Unstreaked, vivid yellow throat and upper breast.
  3. Olive-green head and upperparts with a contrasting gray rump.
  4. Two crisp white wingbars on dark gray wings.
  5. White belly and undertail coverts.
  6. Small, sturdy dark bill with a subtly hooked tip.

HabitatOpen deciduous woodland and forest edges; also uses mixed deciduous forest, wooded gaps, and shrubby woodland edges.

BehaviorA deliberate foliage gleaner, moving slowly through tree branches to pick insects from leaves and twigs.
